He represents public utilities in state regulatory proceedings before the Virginia State Corporation Commission. He also represents clients in state and federal courts in matters such as real estate litigation, FELA litigation, intellectual property litigation, commercial disputes, construction law claims, and personal injury litigation. Matt has handled several high-profile cases in these practice areas.
Matt graduated from Carnegie-Mellon University and received his law degree, magna cum laude, from Washington and Lee University, where he was a member of the Order of the Coif and a staff writer for the Law Review.

Matt and his wife Jane moved to Roanoke right after law school in Lexington, Va. when he started at Woods Rogers in 1992. When Matt is not in the office, you will find them enjoying the outdoors in S.W.Va.
