Scanning Clerk (Roanoke, VA)

Woods Rogers is hiring a Scanning Clerk to join its Roanoke, VA office. The Scanning Clerk is responsible for organizing, scanning, and maintaining digital records of physical documents and files. This role involves handling confidential documents and ensuring that they are accurately digitized, indexed, and stored in the firm’s document management system. The Scanning Clerk is vital to the firm’s document management process, improving access to information and fostering compliance and confidentiality.

 This is a part-time, in-office position at the Roanoke, VA office. This position is not benefits-eligible. It is anticipated that the Scanning Clerk will work 25 hours per week, Monday – Friday between the hours of 8:30 AM – 5:30 PM.

 Required Qualifications 

  • Exceptional organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • High level of discretion and confidentiality in handling sensitive client information. 
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Outlook).

 Responsibilities 

  • Organize and prepare physical documents and files for scanning.
  • Operate scanning machines and software to create digital copies of documents.
  • Ensure the quality and clarity of scanned documents.
  • Accurately index and label scanned files based on content and guidelines.
  • Maintain organized physical and digital filing systems.
  • Assist with other clerical tasks such as photocopying, filing, and data entry when needed.
  • All other duties and responsibilities as assigned.

 Physical Demands

  • Ability to sit for long periods of time
  • Ability to lift and carry boxes of documents (up to 25 pounds).
