Woods Rogers Takes Center Stage at Norfolk Portsmouth Bar Annual Meeting

Firm News

Woods Rogers took center stage at annual meeting of the Norfolk-Portsmouth Bar Association (NPBA) on Wednesday, May 1. Board member and Labor & Employment Practice Group Co-Chair Anne Bibeau was sworn in as the NPBA’s president; Principal Jenny Eaton was appointed Secretary; and Associate Kate Lennon was honored with the prestigious Walter E. Hoffman Community Service Award.

The Walter E. Hoffman Award recognizes outstanding service to the community by one of the NPBA’s younger members (Richard Ottinger, Jim Harvey, and Jenny Eaton are all past recipients!). Kate was selected for the honor based on her involvement in the James Kent American Inn of Court, her role as past chair of NPBA’s Young Lawyers Section, her volunteer support at the William & Mary Law School moot court competitions, and her service on the Bench-Bar and Bench-Bar Relations Committees. Kate also devotes significant time to representing pro bono clients as a volunteer attorney for Legal Aid. In addition to her professional contributions, Kate serves her community as treasurer of the Larchmont Edgewater Civic League and a board member of The Planning Council.

Though Jenny could not attend the meeting, she shared this about her colleague, “Kate knows that being a lawyer isn’t just about sitting behind a desk; she is a true testament to living the citizen-lawyer mentality.”

Woods Rogers celebrates Anne, Jenny, and Kate for their outstanding accomplishments.
