Patice L. Holland Elected to Virginia Bar Association Board of Governors

Patice L. Holland, Principal at Woods Rogers Vandeventer Black (WRVB), has been elected to the Virginia Bar Association (VBA) Board of Governors for a three-year term. Patice exemplifies the high ideals of the VBA and adds to WRVB’s long roster of Virginia leaders.

Patice specializes in transportation (rail) law, employment litigation, and workplace investigations. Currently, she leads the firm’s Transportation and E-Discovery Practice Groups and chairs its DEI Task Force. In addition to practicing law, Patice also serves as a Substitute Judge for the 23rd Judicial Circuit and is Co-Chair of the VBA’s Diversity Committee. Patice is WRVB’s first Black female partner. She earned a law degree from Stetson University College of Law and a bachelor’s degree from George Mason University.

Victor Cardwell, WRVB Chairman of the Board and the VBA Board of Governors Past President (2022), acknowledged Patice’s many accomplishments, stating “I could not be prouder that Patice Holland is moving into the line of leadership at the Virginia Bar Association. Patice has distinguished herself as leader in the profession and the Black community. While upholding the traditions of the VBA, she will bring fresh ideas and perspective to move the organization forward.”

The VBA is Virginia’s oldest and largest voluntary professional association for attorneys. It has a long history promoting professionalism and community service through its members. The Board of Governors manages the business of the Virginia Bar Association.
