Seven Woods Rogers Attorneys and Three Practice Groups Ranked by Chambers USA

Recognition

Woods Rogers was recognized by Chambers and Partners as a leader in Labor & Employment Law (Band 1), General Commercial Litigation (Band 3), and Bankruptcy & Restructuring (Band 4) in Virginia. Seven attorneys were recognized individually for their excellent legal work and client service in their respective practices.

The Litigation & Dispute Resolution practice rose to Band 3 in the category of Litigation: General Commercial. One source remarked, "The team is available to handle complex issues that arise and the lawyers are easily accessible." Individually, Mark Loftis was named in Band 3 and called a “a fine choice of litigator for insurance disputes and product liability claims.” Chambers ranks James Jennings as a Senior Statesperson, noting his “broad caseload of civil litigation, including defending against product liability and personal injury claims.”

The Labor & Employment team moved up to Band 1 in recognition of its “broad labor and employment group respected for its handling of a wide array of matters” and for “its strength in regulatory compliance, litigation and labor negotiations.” A client said of the team, “I have always been impressed by how accessible and knowledgeable they are. They work directly with me to explain the issues and devise a plan to address the problems or areas in which we need guidance.”

Attorneys Victor Cardwell (Band 2), King Tower (Band 2), and Tom Winn (Band 3) were recognized as leading lawyers in this category. Victor was recognized for his work in a wide variety of labor and employment matters, including representing clients in lawsuits and before government agencies. Each attorney was noted for their skill and experience in a variety of industries and labor and employment matters.

Chambers recognized the Bankruptcy & Restructuring team as an “experienced bankruptcy and restructuring group.” Michael Hastings was named in Band 1 for his excellent work, with Chambers noting he is “much admired for his bankruptcy practice, which includes advising debtors, creditors and trustees on Chapter 11 proceedings and out-of-court restructurings.”

Additionally, William Franczek was named in the Construction: Mediators category (Band 1). He is noted as a “top-tier mediator” and is highlighted for his extensive experience in construction law and alternative dispute resolution.
