Sue Cook Appointed to the Board of Governors for the Community Foundation Serving West Virginia

Firm News

Woods Rogers congratulates Sue Cook for her appointment to the Board of Governors for the Community Foundation Serving Western Virginia. The Community Foundation was formed in 1988 with the mission of “enabling people who love their community to easily give back.” In practice, this means providing professional oversight of endowment funds, grant making, and fulfilling other philanthropic needs on behalf of donors. Sue’s experience representing area non-profits as well as serving as counsel to families in our region on business and legacy plan considerations will play an important role as she now participates and advises the Community Foundation as a board member.

Regarding the appointment, Sue said, “I’m grateful for the opportunity to become involved with an organization that collaboratively supports our community’s needs and enhances the vitality of the Roanoke Valley and beyond.” Sue believes strongly in giving back to her community. She has previously served on the Board of Directors for the Presbyterian Community Center and as President of the Roanoke Valley Chapter of the Virginia Women Attorneys Association.
