Woods Rogers Litigation Team Secures Defense Verdict for Norfolk Southern
Client Milestone
Woods Rogers is pleased to have secured a significant defense verdict for Norfolk Southern.
The case involved a locomotive engineer who claimed that while walking on a locomotive walkway, he tripped on a transition/weld repair area and it caused him to fall and injure himself. The engineer brought claims against Norfolk Southern under the Federal Employers’ Liability Act (FELA) and the Locomotive Inspection Act (LIA).
The Woods Rogers team, including Patice Holland, Raven Burks and Kate Lennon, tried the case over five days before Judge David B. Carson in the Roanoke City Circuit Court.
On Friday, June 7, 2024, the jury returned a defense verdict on all counts.
