Brian focuses his practice in the areas of corporate transactions (including M&A), banking representations (lender and borrower) and in a variety of real estate matters.

Get To Know Brian

Brian handles a wide variety of commercial and residential real estate matters for his clients, including developers, landowners, and investors. Brian is well-versed in commercial real estate closings and title reviews. He has represented both borrowers and lending institutions during his career. He also represents his clients in residential real estate transactions.

A significant part of his practice focuses on assisting privately held companies with their transactional needs, including advising clients in merger and acquisition activities, joint venture structures and capital raises.

Prior to attending law school, Brian was a commercial lender with a regional bank in Fort Worth, Texas. He began his legal career as a federal income tax attorney in Austin, Texas.

Brian currently serves as the Board Chair of the advisory board of the Salvation Army of Charlottesville. In 2021 Brian was appointed to a multi-year term on the Charlottesville-Albemarle Airport Commission.

He is a member of the board of directors of the Albemarle County Police Foundation. He also serves as the corporate secretary for the VIA Centers for Neurodevelopment.
