Josh has extensive experience representing clients in complex civil litigation matters involving business, employment and intellectual property disputes. He has handled many high-profile and high exposure cases in the manufacturing, education and medical industries. Josh has served as lead counsel in these and other types of disputes in federal and state courts throughout Virginia and North Carolina and beyond.

Prior to joining Woods Rogers, Josh practiced law in Charlotte, N.C., and was a law clerk for the Hon. Frank Bullock Jr., U.S. District Judge for the Middle District of North Carolina in Greensboro.

Josh serves currently as vice president of the Roanoke Chapter of the Federal Bar Association. He has been recognized as a Super Lawyers "Rising Star" and as one of the "Legal Elite" by Virginia Business magazine.

A native of Chapel Hill, N.C., Josh earned his bachelor’s degree, magna cum laude, from the University of Richmond. He graduated with honors from law school at the University of North Carolina, where he was a member of the North Carolina Law Review and on the Board of Editors of the North Carolina Banking Journal.

Josh enjoys travel, music, skiing, surfing and fishing. He and his wife have a son, two daughters and a Cockapoo named Lola. He enjoys working at Woods Rogers for its unique combination of practice excellence and community ties.

  • Lead counsel representing a heath care services company and successfully defending against RICO and business conspiracy claims by a national competitor.
  • Lead counsel representing an orthotics company and successfully pursuing breach of contract and trade secret misappropriation claims against former employees and contractors.
  • Lead counsel representing a senior living services company and successfully defending against trademark infringement and unfair competition claims from an industry provider.
  • Lead counsel representing a national university and medical school and successfully defending against breach of contract and breach of fiduciary duty claims from a former professor.
