Get To Know Kelly

Kelly is a litigation paralegal in the Labor & Employment and Workers' Compensation practice groups. She has more than 18 years of experience working with both the Virginia Workers’ Compensation Act and the Longshore and Harbor Workers’ Compensation Act.

As a litigation paralegal, Kelly performs a variety of administrative and special project functions by contributing to trial preparation processes regarding the Virginia Workers’ Compensation Act. This includes maintaining information and resource management systems to streamline performance and improve speed and accuracy of caseload management; preparing all necessary filings and pleadings, such as Written Statements, Motions, medical synopsis, Notice to Produce, Interrogatories, Notice of Deposition, Subpoenas; and compiling Exhibits.

Kelly is proficient in electronic filing with the Virginia Workers’ Compensation Commission and can discern inferences and make legal defense connections among legal authorities, medical providers, and employers.

Kelly is a Virginia Beach native and has been married to William since 2011. They reside in Virginia Beach with their four amazing children!

Kelly has a passion for community service and outreach programs in the Hampton Roads area and strongly believes that by giving back, we promote an environment of inclusion, advocacy, and kindness in our community.

Presently, since 2017, Kelly has served in several positions and roles for a local nonprofit organization, Aid Another, whose mission is to promote and empower the unique talents and visions of individuals with disabilities. Kelly was instrumental in establishing a wide range of programs for Aid Another, including baseball, tween-teen social club, and a dance club for youth with disabilities. Moreover, Kelly hosts a wide range of fundraising endeavors to provide financial support for Aid Another. Based on her stellar work within the organization, Kelly was recognized and awarded The Community Partner Award in 2023.

Additionally, Kelly coordinates with corporate partners, donors, and leaders to build relationships within the community and promote outreach programs for Pandas Fight Against Cancer, a local nonprofit organization in Virginia Beach. She helps support initiatives including Back to School drives and giveaways, Thanksgiving Food Baskets, and Toy Drives and giveaways.

Also, Kelly serves as an executive board member for Growing Seeds, which is a grass roots nonprofit organization that creates innovative, transformative, and meaningful growth through inspirational, educational, and sustainability initiatives for improvement of an individual’s well-being. As a board member, Kelly is dedicated to meeting the needs of our community by providing support, goods, and services to persons who are in need.

Kelly is also the executive director and grant writer for Jones & Collins, LLC, and focuses on preforming professional and administrative work in researching, identifying, developing, and responding to public and private grant opportunities for local nonprofit organizations.
