Businesses are often faced with making difficult decisions and have complex needs. Nick has developed key skills in specific areas of law to better serve those needs, with a focus on finding clear, tailored solutions for his clients. He has facilitated complex business transactions in a diverse set of industries including health care, biotechnology, commercial real estate, tech startups, franchises, food service, heavy construction, government contracting, and nonprofits. Nick also enjoys assisting businesses with their corporate governance and other day-to-day opportunities, challenges, negotiations and dispute resolution. Whatever the issue, he works to resolve his clients’ matters efficiently with consistent, clear, and reliable communication to empower his clients to make informed decisions. Being responsive to clients is a keystone of Nick's practice. 

Nick began his career at Woods Rogers as a summer associate in 2017 and returned as an associate in 2018. He graduated cum laude from the University of Richmond School of Law, where he and his competition partner were Regional Champions and National Finalists in the American Bar Association Alternative Dispute Resolution Competition. During his time in law school, Nick also served as Editor-in- Chief of the Richmond Journal of Law and Technology and earned the Credential of Readiness (CORe) from Harvard Business School to further develop his business acumen and better serve his clients.

Nick grew up in Virginia Beach, Virginia and majored in Psychology with minors in Spanish and Anthropology at Christopher Newport University, graduating magna cum laude. During his undergraduate years, he earned both the Rosemary Trible Prize for Leadership and Service and the Dean’s Service Award.

In his spare time, he serves as a director and secretary of the Christopher Newport University Alumni Society Board, as the founding president and current Board member of Christopher Newport’s Roanoke-Blacksburg Alumni Chapter, and as a member of the WVTF & Radio IQ Friends Council.

An avid outdoorsman, Nick enjoys hiking, fishing, and mountain biking with his wife and dogs, and has worked as a whitewater rafting guide.

  • Serves as outside general counsel to established businesses and startups in various industries including biotech, tech, healthcare, commercial real estate, government contracting, and others.
  • Represents buyers and sellers in mergers, acquisitions, dispositions, formations, dissolutions, and other complex commercial transactions.
  • Represents clients in connection with licensing opportunities, financings, security offerings, leases, and joint ventures.
  • Assists clients with the adoption and implementation of enhanced corporate governance practices and compliance initiatives.
  • Represents clients with contract negotiations, commercial dispute resolutions, and other general corporate endeavors.
