Patrick is experienced in the negotiation and administration of collective bargaining agreements, discipline, discharge and grievance processing, and arbitrating labor disputes. He routinely defends management in state and federal employment lawsuits, conducts preventative management training, and speaks at industry conventions on a variety of labor and employment topics.

Patrick is recognized as a rising leader in the bar: peers elected him Chair of the Virginia Bar Association’s Young Lawyer’s Division, and voted him into a number of industry publications, including Virginia Super Lawyers and Virginia Business Magazine’s Legal Elite. Patrick has served his community on a number of civic boards and is an adjunct professor at the Washington & Lee University School of Law, his alma mater.

  • Peraton, Inc. v. I.B.E.W, Local 543, 5:21CV00976 (C.D.Ca. 2021) (appeal of labor arbitration on the basis that the arbitrator exceeded the boundaries of the issues submitted by federal contractor and union).
  • Management-side representative in dozens of union negotiations for defense contractors serving a number of federal agencies, and other heavy industrial clients.
  • Negotiated a series of eight collective bargaining agreements for 30,000+ employee federal contractor at border defense sites across the U.S./Mexico border.
  • Lead negotiator of collective bargaining agreements for federal defense contractor operating physical plant facilities at U.S. Army Hospitals in Southeastern and Mid-Atlantic U.S.
  • Lead negotiator of collective bargaining agreement for federal defense contractor operating flight training program at Naval Air Station in California.
  • Lead negotiator of collective bargaining agreement for San Francisco, California-area electrical transformer and mobile substation manufacturer.
  • Advised various employers in connection with collective bargaining agreements in a number of industries, including manufacturing and finance.
